Dachshund Sweater

How adorable is this J.Crew Factory dachshund sweater??!! As soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it! My mom got it for me for my birthday, so it worked out perfectly.

My three month no shopping binge was up this month. I purchased a few items I thought would enhance my wardrobe and now I plan to spend with caution, with my motto being, “quality over quantity.”

Anyways, back to the adorable sweater! I have a dachshund named Lily and anyone who knows me well knows that I am obsessed! I got her before I graduated college, and she has been the best little companion anyone could ask for. So, it seemed fitting for me to have to have this sweater! I styled it with my pink J. Crew Factory puffer vest that I’ve had for a few years now (remember quality over quantity) similar here, Factory skinny jeans (old as well) and Factory black slip-on sneakers (similar here and here.)

And here is my sweet girl, Lily. Don’t let her adorable little face fool you, she is a hot mess. πŸ™‚

Is anyone else a doxie lover? Even if you aren’t, this sweater is just too cute!

Five Faves for Fall

Hello, all! Hooray for Friday, right?! We have been super crazy busy with school, but since we are finally getting some cooler, fall weather, we thought we would make some time and share our five favorite outfits from a few of our favorite bloggers to wear during fall. Even if it is chilly in the mornings and then 80 degrees in the afternoon in October, we believe that sweater weather is better! πŸ˜‰

  1. Arrows and Apricots

These girls are the cutest! We love their style and love how the majority of this outfit came from Target. The chambray shirt, tartan scarf, and black jeans are a must for any fall outfit. You can mix and match the three to make several different outfits. Love the brown booties and especially that hat.

2. SS Life + Style

We love Stephanie Sterjovski’s style! She styles for liketoknow.it, so she gives you the exact links for what she is wearing. We are in love with this stripe and plaid combo.

3. The Quarter Life Closet

Much like us, Christina’s favorite part of the day is getting dressed. We love how she paired her J. Crew Vans with this outfit. It’s casual, easy to throw on, but super cute!

4. Lilly Style

We are swooning over this outfit from Lilly. Her Hunter boots, gray jeans and that gingham shirt are pretty much perfection, in our opinion. Outfits like this are one of the few reasons we like winter.

Here we are putting our Hunter boots to good use! Can you guess who is who?

5. The College Prepster

We absolutely love Carly! It is really inspiring to hear her talk about how she first began blogging years ago and  we enjoy getting any and all tips from her on blogging, fashion and life, in general. We are L.L. Bean Boot lovers, if you didn’t already know. We love how Carly has hers paired here. Any day is a good day to wear your beans!

Fall Must-Haves

Since we are not so patiently awaiting the arrival of fall, our favorite season, we thought we would share a few “must haves” for the season. We have each of these in our wardrobe and definitely couldn’t live (or dress ourselves) without them!

Ashley’s Must-Haves

The first item is a J.Crew Factory Quilted Puffer Vest. This one, as well as a few other puffer vests, resides in my closet. I love the puffer vests because you can easily dress them up with a button up or solid colored/patterned long-sleeved tee and a scarf underneath, or dress them down with a long sleeved t-shirt, leggings and bean boots! I want to wear my vests everyday!

Another must have are the J.Crew Factory Skinny Cords (or any cords for that matter.) I own a variety of colors and love pairing them with my puffer vests or chunky sweaters and booties! I’m so excited for fall! Ready for this blazing hot weather to be gone!

Update: I am on month two of my three month “no shopping binge!” I can proudly say I have not bought a single piece of clothing (jewelry and accessories included) and I feel great! My goal is (when I am able to purchase items) to only buy things that will be a classic piece in my wardrobe and that will last. The two must-haves I mentioned today are the perfect example of that! I’ve had these items for years and they are still in style and in perfect condition! πŸ˜ƒ

Jess’s Must-Haves

I love L.L. Bean boots. I cannot stress it enough. Not only did I wear them about everyday last fall/winter, I probably wore them a little longer than is socially appropriate (cough…a few days into spring). I can’t wait to break them out again. They are great to wear with skinny jeans and vest or with leggings and a long shirt.

One piece I can’t wait to wear is my new poncho from Loft. I’m a little obsessed with this new trend, but I haven’t been able to wear mine yet. Come on fall! It will definitely be cozy when the days become cooler.

What are you looking forward to wearing this fall?!

Wednesday Wardrobe: First Day of School Outfit

I wanted to share my outfit that I wore for the first day of school! I chose one of my J. Crew Factory pencil skirts that I LOVE (they are so cute and comfy!) along with my striped tank from Loft. I topped it off with my yellow cardigan from J. Crew Factory.

I have taken on a 3 month no shopping challenge for myself, so you may see some of the same things pop up in my wardrobe pictures.

For one, I am getting married, trying to buy a house, etc., so my fun “shopping whenever I want to” days are over.

Furthermore, I’ve been inspired by other bloggers and their talk about having classic staple pieces in your wardrobe to wear in many different ways, so there is probably no reason for me to be constantly buying new pieces for my wardrobe (even if they are super, super cheap.)

My goal is to use the pieces I have and maybe from time to time (or every three months) buy a piece or two that I know will compliment my wardrobe and be a lasting piece for me to wear! If I don’t need it, I’m not buying it! I’ll let you know how this goes. πŸ™‚

Anybody else doing a no shopping challenge? Or have any tips for me with my challenge?

Happy Wednesday!

I loved the color of this swimsuit (they also have it in black) and I was on the search for a cute one-piece. Since I am taller and longer torsoed, I tend to run into the problem of one-pieces not being long enough for me body wise. If I go up a size to try and make up for that, then it’s too big. Well, this piece fit me perfectly! I ordered a small and it is just right. My mom just loved it on me! She said it was very flattering yet modest. If you are looking for a cute, form flattering one-piece, this is it!

Has anyone else ordered this bathing suit?! I always like the way J. Crew Factory and J. Crew bathing suits fit!

Happy Monday!
