Since the weather is warming up, we can start wearing some of our favorite warm-weather wardrobe pieces: the skirt. We decided to show two different styles. The first is the pencil skirt and a go-to for professional wear at school. The second is the (not-so) mini skirt.
This is probably one of the brightest outfits that I own, and a little bit out of my comfort zone. I decided to do something a little bit different from my other wardrobe posts (which is filled with the same color palette). I bought the yellow skirt from J. Crew Factory a couple of years ago, and usually wear it with a navy checkered shirt. I decided this time I would pair it with a bright pink shell from J. Crew Factory.
This skirt is actually vintage Gap and belonged to my Aunt Paige. I love this skirt and is one of my favorites. I inherited some of her clothing a few years ago and they are either older Gap or J. Crew pieces, but they are golden. I like to wear this particular skirt with my cream blouse from the Loft. The floral pattern of the skirt reminds me of something from the sixties.
Here are some skirts I am loving right now, but not my bank account would not:
I love this pink pencil skirt with the added peplum material! I got this on the clearance rack from Belk a few years ago. I have styled it with several different tops, but I especially like this white and navy polka dotted top with the popped collar. Add a sweater and you have a perfect teacher outfit (or just a perfect outfit!) I love finding classic pieces that cost me less to nothing!
I love mini skirts from J. Crew Factory because they are short enough to be called a mini-skirt, but still long enough so that they don’t lose that classy look and feel. I also love this J. Crew Factory flowy top because it can be styled with many things and look fabulous!
Here are some other skirts I am currently loving (and trying to figure out how to fit them into my budget!):
