TGIF! I’ve had a pretty productive week at the gym (the struggle is real, btw. Why can’t my muscles just form by themselves?!) and just wanted to share a few tidbits. I always try and reach my goal of 10,000 steps on my Fitbit (mentioned in a previous Favorites post). It’s pretty amazing the amount of steps I take at school. And then I double that at the gym.
After recently talking with my spin instructor, (I’m obsessed with spin. Love it.) she suggested that I start drinking protein shakes and smoothies so I can maintain my weight and still “get my cardio on.” So far, so good. I’ve listed a smoothie recipe below that she gave me to try. Very yummy!
1 scoop of vanilla flavored whey protein (or 1/2 cup Greek yogurt)
1 cup apple juice
1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 of a frozen banana (If it’s not frozen, just add some ice)
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
Blend and drink up! I have a Magic Bullet blender. I bought it from someone I knew (cheaper price, of course) and I really like it! It’s small and easy to work. The cups I blend my smoothies in have a lid that goes with them, so I just blend and go!
I also wanted to share a few of my fave outfits I’ve worn to the gym recently–oh yes, style at the gym is a must for me. My tank top and pants both came from a Nike Outlet. I don’t pay full price for any of my name brand workout gear! I always hit up outlet stores or websites that sell the brands for cheaper. A similiar priced outfit is here and here.
Another fave of mine is from TJ Maxx. I absolutely LOVE the Maxx! It’s pure happiness whenever I go! They have super cute and cheap (the most important part, of course) workout clothes. The majority of mine are purchased there.
