Denim on denim on denim…Another great style challenge from Teach. Inspire. Change.
I use to avoid denim on denim at all cost growing up. But lately, I have been doing it more, and I’ll tell you, I don’t hate it. I’m finding it to be a very laid-back but put-together look. When I style denim on denim, I like to pair two different shades of denim, or two different colors. As usual, I keep the accessories to a minimum. The other day, I work a chambray top with studs on the collar (similar here), a darker wash of blue jean, and suede, camel-colored booties (similar here).
I also styled a different denim look. I love wearing hoodies with denim vests (similar here)! I wish I could insert a more elegant description about this look. Something similar to gibberish Elaine Benes from Seinfeld can spurt about the J. Peterman Catalog. “He wore a classic courtman’s duster… great for running along side a train, waving last goodbyes, posing on a veranda (Seinfeld, episode 6.24)”. Alas, I don’t have it in me. I will just have to settle for it’s comfortable to move around in and I love it.
Here are some of my favorite denims…
Here is a denim vested hoodie!
So, I totally loved this challenge and getting to pair my denim together! I paired my classic chambray shirt (similar here) with these black and white denims (similar here) that I got on sale a year or so ago at J. Crew Factory but have yet to wear! I knew there would come a perfect time such as this to wear them. I also added a statement necklace from J. Crew to throw in some extra pop. My booties are OTBT’s (Off the Beaten Track) -some of the most comfortable shoes ever! I got them for super cheap, so if you don’t like the price they are now, just keep watching and checking on different sites, and you will most likely luck up and find them for cheap like I did!
How do you style your denim together?
