I am a person who loves reading about beauty and health tips and tricks. I downloaded Lea Michele’s book, Brunette Ambition, because it came with her beauty and gym routines, plus recipes and red carpet styles. I don’t ever watch Glee, because I feel uncomfortable watching all those people sing and dance all the time (but more power to them). However, I loved reading about all of her at-home regimens. She talks about the different scrubs she makes at home, and personally, I would love to try all of them. I have my own scrub that I use as a face exfoliator and it is only one ingredient. Two words. Baking soda. This may not be much of a secret to anyone, but every time I use it it makes my skin feel so smooth. And the great part? You can buy it for super cheap. For two days out of the week, I exfoliate my skin. I like to do it on Mondays and Thursdays. I wash my face with Cetaphil to make sure I have all of my makeup off, and then I gently rub the baking soda all over my face including my lips. I swear, my lips have never felt so smooth. From this winter weather, skin can get so dried out, so it’s refreshing to get some of the old skin off and start anew. Sometimes, I have to exfoliate more than twice a week especially when I have really dry skin, but I will probably never buy brand-name exfoliator, even though I’m tempted all the time. I used to store it in my shower in a plastic container, but it’s hard to keep moisture away from it. Now, I keep it in a dish beside my sink.
