It is no secret that we are huge fans of the J. Crew Factory. Every fall we anticipate the arrival of the new puffer vests. They had so many colors and patterns to choose from this season. We wanted to take one of our favorite pieces for the winter and show two different ways to style it.
Not only do I love a good puffer vest, but a classic chambray shirt is high on my list as well. A chambray shirt (similar here) is a piece that everyone should have in their closet. One simple but stylish way to wear chambray is with a vest like in the picture below. Both the vest and the shirt came from J. Crew Factory. The navy polka dotted chords did as well (similar here and here). This was definitely a J. Crew kind of day for me as you can see. The good thing about chambray and a vest is they pair well when worn together. Any colored chords, pants, or even jeans would be an ample option for this outfit!
A second chambray option, that I actually wore today, is with my herringbone vest (that I finally splurged on before it was completely sold out), but with black leggings. My leggings are actually a thicker type pant called The Gigi Pant (similar here) from J. Crew Factory as well. They also have pockets on the back. I really love these pants because they are very versatile. You can wear them for a dressy look or a more casual, comfortable look. I also added my Hunter rain boots to top this outfit off for a pop of color.
I missed out last year on obtaining a puffer vest, so this year I jumped on it. Lately, I have been obsessed with the color navy. So naturally, I gravitated towards the navy puffer vest (similar here). I usually style my vest with sweaters that have complementary colors. One of my favorites is a hunter green boyfriend sweater I bought on sale from J. Crew and had monogrammed (similar here). I am not one who is big on accessorizing. I literally wear three pieces of jewelry everyday. I wear small pearl earrings, a small cross necklace, and a watch. Since it has been especially cold here lately, I wrapped up in a cozy navy plaid scarf from Gap (similar here). I topped it off with leopard print loafers.
Another option that I have worn out too many times is my grey horse J. Crew Factory sweatshirt. I think people are starting to wonder if I keep a stable near by. Oh well, I love the equestrian look. Here’s how I style it:
Who else loves a good vest? How do you style yours?
